Jeremy Theobald
Jeremy Theobald studied physiology at University College London, and went on to conduct research in molecular cell biology before starting a career in publishing. He has worked for Current Science, Mosby–Wolfe, as a freelance editor, John Wiley and Sons, the Emerging Health Threats Forum and is now Managing Health Editor for Bupa. He represented Wiley journals in the UK at COPE since 2001, was elected to Council in 2003, and was elected Treasurer in 2006. He started annual strategy meetings for COPE and was instrumental in COPE's registration as a UK charity. He presented COPE research at the Peer Review Congress in 2005, and has spoken at conferences around the world on publication ethics, including the US National Academy of Sciences in February 2008. He has spent the past year redesigning and rebuilding the COPE website.
He is an (unpaid) member of the finance committee for the World Association of Medical Editors.
He occassionally accepts expenses of travel and accommodation when going to talk at conference on publication ethics.
