Lars Ole Sauerberg
Lars Ole Sauerberg, dr phil, is Professor of Literature in English at University of Southern Denmark, which he has also served in the administrative capacities of pro-vice-chancellor and dean. His research interests lie mainly in the literature and criticism of the period since 1900, and he has published monographs and articles on a wide variety of subjects, from studies of generic fiction over canonicity to intercultural literature. He launched the BA degree programme in Library Science at the SDU in 2009, and he is active in the Gutenberg Parenthesis Research Forum, which is a forum dedicated to the study of texts in the context of print culture. His last major work in English is Intercultural Voices in Contemporary British Literature: The Implosion of Empire. (228 pp. London and New York: Palgrave, 2001), and in Danish a literary history of British literature since 1945 (Britisk litteratur siden 1945. 422 pp. Syddansk Universitetsforlag/University Press of Southern Denmark, 2006). He is also active a literary journalist and book reviewer in the Danish national press. He joined the editorial staff of Orbis Litterarum: International Review of Literary Studies in 1999, and took over in 2000 as general and English editor.
